Do you have a musical ancestor? Perhaps there is someone musical in your living family, or perhaps you are the musical one.

Don't miss a morning with local author Mel Bray, who will tell us about her book 'Australian Carillonists: respect for the past and a vision for the future'. Mel's book tells the stories of Australia's carillonists and was Highly Commended in the 2025 ACT Literary Awards. 

We'll also hear from some of our members about their musical ancestry.

Mel Bray is an author, economist and former senior executive at the Australian Treasury who has worked as a freelance journalist and as a policy adviser to two Federal Ministers.

A member of the committee of the Carillon Society of Australia and editor of its magazine, Melissa is passionate about sharing the stories of the diverse group of talented musicians who play Australia’s three carillons and in raising awareness of these unique instruments and her first book ‘Australian carillonists’ tells their stories.
