2026 E.M. Fletcher Writing Competition
Family History ACT’s short story writing competition is back for 2026, with cash prizes and a special prize exclusively for FHACT members. The competition will be judged to select the best short story of 1,500 – 2,000 words on a family history / genealogy theme.
The easiest way to enter the competition is online via the FHACT website. It’s your one-stop shop for all the information about the competition including the terms and conditions and a handy checklist about commonly overlooked requirements.
Don’t forget to log in as a member to take advantage of the members only reduced entry fee. The E.M. Fletcher writing competition opens on 15 February. Every family has a story - write yours now!
