SouthFest Visitors Treated to a Very Special Guest
Family History ACT enjoyed a successful day at Tuggeranong SouthFest yesterday, welcoming a steady stream of visitors eager to learn more about tracing their family history.
But one guest in particular stole the show — Hephner the alpaca.
Hephner, a much-loved figure in Canberra, is well known for his calming presence at Clare Holland House, where he brings comfort to those in palliative care. Away from his therapy work, Hephner maintains a busy community schedule, visiting schools, events and local groups.
To everyone’s delight, he arrived at SouthFest complete with his very own family pedigree chart. Hephner’s father is from Peru and his mother is Australian. Our volunteers, always ready for any genealogical challenge, were more than happy to help — proving that at Family History ACT, we can even help an alpaca with a family history question.
It was a wonderful day of conversations and community spirit, and we thank everyone who stopped by to say hello — two-legged and four-legged alike.
Hephner's distinguished pedigree
