Family History ACT members met at the AGM to elect the new Council for the coming year.

Family History ACT held its Annual General Meeting on 4 November 2025, where members gathered to reflect on a successful year and to elect the new Council that will guide the Society into 2026.

The Council plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of Family History ACT and is responsible for managing the Society’s operations, supporting members in their research activities and ensuring the society continues to develop and plan for the future.

We are delighted to announce the incoming Council:

      President: Michele Rainger

      Vice President: Sue Pillans

      Secretary: Marie Wensing

      Treasurer: Cheryl Bollard

Re-elected Councilors: Floss Aitchison, Mel McNamara, Grahame Thom, David Wintrip, and Howard Viccars

Newly elected Councilor: Helen Bull

We also extend our thanks to Janette Lindsay and Margaret Nichols, who have stepped down from Council this year. Both have made significant contributions during their terms, working tirelessly to support the society.

The Council is well-placed to guide Family History ACT through the year ahead.
