During October 2024 Family History ACT is celebrating 60 years of supporting and assisting family historians from across the Canberra Region and beyond.

Join us at 2pm Saturday 19 October at a special event as Society Patron Professor Peter Stanley launches our newest publication Honour Your Ancestors: Sixty years of Family History in the ACT.

Honour Your Ancestors invites readers on a journey through six decades of history, recounting the remarkable achievements of Family History ACT. From a modest gathering of Canberra’s heraldry and genealogy enthusiasts in 1964 to the dynamic Society of the 2020s, this book celebrates the tireless voluntary efforts that have shaped one of Australia’s most vibrant family history societies.

Also joining us will be Mr Duncan Marshall, Chair of the ACT Heritage Council along with representatives of other cultural groups in the ACT.

Afternoon tea will be served afterwards for those able to join us at the Family History ACT premises at the Cook Community Hub.

This event is now available for registration via the FHACT website.  All welcome.  Please note that in-person places at Cook will be limited due to the capacity of the room. You will also be able to join us virtually via Zoom.
