Don't miss the Family History ACT activities at the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival

The 41st annual Canberra and Region Heritage Festival is on during April 2024.

Attendees will be able to participate in a variety of talks, workshops, tours, open days and exhibitions at numerous locations across the Canberra Region.

Family History ACT (FHACT) will be offering a number of activities again this year:-

The 2024 Father Brian Maher Lecture, 7 - 9pm Tuesday 2 April, at the FHACT Library, Cook Community Hub, 41 Templeton St Cook.  Cheryl Mongan from Yass & District Historical Society will be presenting "Father Brian Maher's 'still point in a turning world'".  Book your place.

Torchlight Tours of St Johns Churchyard, 7-8.30pm Mon – Wed 15, 16 & 17 April, St Johns Churchyard, Constitution Ave Reid

St John’s Churchyard pre-dates the Canberra that we know. See the headstones of the early pioneers by torchlight and hear some remarkable stories of those buried here. A level of fitness is required due to uneven surfaces. Cost $10. Limited to 20 people.  To register or for more information, contact June Penny

Family History ACT Open Day, 2 – 5pm Saturday 27 April, FHACT Library , Cook Community Hub, 41 Templeton St Cook.  Interested in family history? Come and visit our Library. See our resources, books and computer programs on offer for our members.  Sit with an experienced member for 30 minutes and learn how to start “shaking your family tree”.
