FHACT is partnering with FindmyPast to offer a series of exciting webinars each Monday night during October at 7pm via Zoom.
FindmyPast has a vast range of records available for genealogists, many of which can only be found on their site. With their at-home access for FHACT members extended until the end of the year, this is a chance to learn more about this valuable resource.
Week 1: Monday October 4:
Genealogical Adventures overseas by Jen Baldwin.
“Crossing the Pond” within our family history is something many of us are working towards, but once you get there, what do you look at? We will examine the standard and creative research opportunities from Britain, Ireland, Wales and Scotland, and the collection material available on Findmypast
Week 2: Monday October 11
Using Find My Past to unlock your Irish Family History by Brian Donovan.
There are over 100 million unique Irish genealogical records at findmypast.com, by far the largest collection anywhere online. But using them well is the subject of this talk. Brian will talk through the many collections available online, focusing on those records which are most valuable for Irish research.
Week 3: Monday October 18
Uncovering family stories with British and Irish Historic Newspapers by Myko Clellamd.
Myko will talk about the using the on-line newspaper collections at FindMyPast to explore your family and further your research.
Week 4: Monday October 25
10 Record Sets on FindMyPast you'll want to use by Jen Baldwin.
What does Findmypast have to offer the Australian genealogist? So much! Come explore these historical collections from both sides of the Atlantic to trace your British & Irish ancestors!
