Free FamilySearch Webinars
03rd September 2025
By Engagement Committee
FamilySearch has announced its free September 2025 webinars designed to help individuals explore their family history using artificial intelligence (AI) tools and proven research techniques. Presented by specialists from the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, these live webinars offer engaging ways to make meaningful family discoveries.
This month’s topics begin with how to start and stay organised in your research. Presenter Savannah Larson will share three foundational strategies to help researchers design with vision, set goals, and build a framework for success. Another session will explore how to add new individuals to the FamilySearch Family Tree. Chloe Isom will demonstrate how to add children, parents, siblings, and individuals from both the tree and person pages.
FamilySearch’s new AI research assistant will also be featured in a webinar led by Sarah Hammond, Taylor Williams and Bill Mangum. Attendees will see the new AI research assistant technology in action, learn how to use it now to grow their family tree more quickly, and hear success stories from early users.
The final webinar of the month will focus on merging duplicate individuals in the FamilySearch Family Tree. Accredited genealogist Tanner Blair Tolman will guide participants through analysing duplicates and completing merges carefully to preserve data integrity.
