FHACT receives an NLA grant for a Preservation Assessment of the Father Brian Maher Collection

Family History ACT is excited to be a 2023 Community Heritage Grants recipient!

We have received funding to have a Preservation Assessment on the Father Brian Maher Collection. This will help us preserve the fragile documents in the Collection, ensuring it will be around for research well into the future. The Preservation Assessment will start in early in 2024 and we’ll keep members updated through our regular newsletters.

The Community Heritage Grants (CHG) program provides non-profit community organisations with funding to assist with the preservation of locally owned, but nationally significant collections. The grants also aim to make these collections more publicly accessible.

CHG is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development,  Communications and the Arts (Office for the Arts); National Library of Australia; the National Archives of Australia; the National Film and Sound Archive and the National Museum of Australia.
