This exhibition showcases the evolution of Family History ACT over the past 55+ years and what this means to family history researchers both here in the ACT and more broadly.
Featuring many photographs, artefacts, and ephemera from the Society’s beginnings, through cemetery picnics, roadshows, conferences and congresses and ongoing projects on heritage and heraldry in the ACT.
A series of Saturday talks will be held during the exhibition, with Family History ACT volunteers present and happy to answer questions.
Saturday 7 August, 2 pm An Introduction to Family History and Family History ACT (Rosemary McKenzie)
Saturday 14 August, 2 pm DNA - helping build your family tree (Marilyn Woodward)
Saturday 21 August, 2 pm Making the most of the big online genealogy databases ( Ann Peut)
Saturday 28 August, 2 pm Using photographs and images in family history (Barb Toohey & Sue Pillans)
