Old letters, certificates, photographs, diaries, maps, family Bibles, newspaper clippings and treasured documents all tell the story of our families—but they can also be fragile.

Join us for this practical, hands-on session where you'll learn simple, effective ways to care for your precious paper, parchment and vellum heirlooms. With an expert paper conservator from one of Australia's largest national galleries on hand, you'll receive practical advice about an item that matters to you.

Whether it's Great-Grandmother's letters, a century-old family Bible, your grandfather's military papers or a treasured certificate, this session will give you the confidence to preserve your family's history for future generations.

On the day you’ll

• Learn the dos and don'ts of caring for paper heirlooms so they stand the test of time.
• Discover the best ways to handle, store and protect your family treasures.
• Have the opportunity to ask questions of an experienced paper conservator.
• Receive practical advice about a precious family item you've brought along.
