1063 Beginning Family History
This course is a hybrid meeting open to members of the public and FHACT members. After registering to attend via Zoom, you will receive an email with a link to the external Zoom website to complete the registration.
Join our family history course and journey to uncover your ancestral roots. Designed for beginners, this course will introduce essential research techniques, key historical records, and tools to help you build your family tree. Learn how to navigate archives, explore online databases, and piece together your ancestors' stories. And what to do when you hit a brick wall!
The course is in two parts: the first on 8th March from 2-5 p.m. This will be followed in May by a face-to-face session for Canberra-based participants and, separately, a Zoom session for those outside Canberra. If you are Canberra based, we expect that you will come to the second session for an introduction to the library and its research tools, plus a one-on-one personal follow-on for your own research. The Zoom session for external participants will also address these aspects from an on-line perspective. We will tell you more about the second sessions on 8th March.
