The topic for this meeting is:
South Coast Shipwrecks
In pre-motor vehicle days, shipping provided the link between South Coast communities and the rest of the world, and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of ships operated along the South Coast. Of course, where there are ships there are invariably shipwrecks. On the South Coast, more than 200 of them! That's 200 stories that could be told - so, in this session, Peter Lacey, President of the South Coast History Society, will tell some of the more interesting of their stories, and explain why so many ships came to grief along the South Coast.
