Irish SIG Meeting (Register)

There will be two topics for the meeting.

Nick will discuss using a finding aid that the National Library of Ireland has just put on-line.  The Land Commission Records are currently closed, although there is movement to make them available in the next few years. The archive has copies of wills and deeds with a large amount of family information lost in the Four Courts fire. Nevertheless, there is useful information in the card index as it can point to associated newspaper advertisements with more details.

Peter will talk about the movement of headstones and remains as an expanding city of Sydney built on land previously used as cemeteries.
