Making Sense of Your DNA Matches – A Hands-On Workshop

Have you tested with AncestryDNA and found yourself staring at a long list of matches, unsure where to start?
This practical workshop will show you how to break down your matches into grandparent groups (Leeds method) and great-grandparent families (coding techniques), helping you turn cousin connections into real branches on your family tree.

Together, we’ll:

  • Explore Ancestry’s built-in tools for sorting and grouping matches

  • Learn step-by-step techniques to identify where your shared DNA segments belong

  • Work on your own results so you can apply what you learn straight away

What to bring:

  • Your laptop or device

  • An active AncestryDNA account with a tree and results available

  • Some pre-reading required

  • An optional follow-up session is offered.

Come ready to dive in, explore your matches, and leave with the skills and confidence to take your DNA research further.
