The Sydney's commissioning crew in Portsmouth

A chance meeting with a man also undertaking a journey to Santiago de Compostella through Portugal led Luke Wensing to learn about the sinking of HMAS Sydney (II)  in November 1941 off the coast of WA, where all hands were thought lost. The Australian Government engaged that man to FIND the long-lost ship."

Luke has experienced a few unique occurrences that relate to the battle and its aftermath to the present day. His presentation, "HMAS Sydney, Lost and Found, yet alive", will address some of the mysteries surrounding the tragic event and its impact on modern undersea engineering.
