Library Practice - Practical Procedures in the Library is an in-person member only training session to explore the FHACT Library and make the best use of its resources.

Sessions are usually on the fourth Monday of the month except December. That includes public holidays if it happens to fall on that day for those people who work.

Members should register to attend this event by logging in and selecting the event with "(Register)" in the title. Sessions are limited to only 4 attendees and due to the close proximity you may like to bring your own mask to wear.

Library Practice - Practical Procedures in the Library.

These sessions are not just for those new to the Library but for anyone wishing to improve their knowledge and make the most of our own really fabulous resource. Sessions now include the use of The FHACT at Cook -  Electronic Resources (FCER) intranet website system developed to provide access to the library CD and electronic journal collections from computers in the main library room. You will also be shown how to use the new Printer/Scanner, how to look for and access microfilm and fiche in our library. Tips on the effective use of subscription websites available, saving your finds and the snipping tool. The library classification system is explained. You will be made aware of Rare Books, Finding Aids, Fr Brian Maher collection, Manuscripts and unpublished MI's. You will be encouraged to look through the folders behind the desk; Library Guide, Forms, Maintenance & Computer Problem reports, Constitution & Bylaws, CD's, Lost papers & For Members trays. The easiest way to use the library catalogue online, renaming your thumbdrive and more.
