The topic for this meeting is :

"Lost on the Limestone Plains - stories of our female pioneers"

Around 200 years ago, Europeans and their livestock began settling on the Limestone Plains, as well as the nearby Goulburn, Isabella, and Monaro Plains. While the stories of the pioneering men of the region have been told many times, the women’s stories often remain untold or forgotten.

"Lost on the Limestone Plains" is a new writing project dedicated to uncovering and sharing the lives of the lesser-known and unknown women who helped shape the Canberra region during its first hundred years or so.

We’re inviting FHACT writers, researchers, and anyone with an interest in local history to help bring these stories to life. Whether you're an experienced writer or just curious, come along for a cuppa, a chat, and the chance to be part of a friendly and creative group.

Help us give voice to the women who helped build this region – one story at a time.
