The topic for this meeting is:

                                                 Plantation of Ireland Part 2

Following on from Part 1, which was held on July 8 last year, Peter Mayberry’s final presentation concentrates mainly on the South-western and Northern areas of Ireland. It covers the Reign of James I (1603-1625) and concludes with the massive devastation brought about by Cromwell and his army’s march through Ireland. With Peter’s heavy use of detail maps and pictorial powerful images, he will endeavour to convey the complex understanding and implications of the English Plantation of Ireland on the Irish population in their native landscape
