The Heraldry Special Interest Group Meeting is for members with an interest in Heraldry. Members including registered Heraldry SIG members should register to attend this event by logging in and selecting the event with "(Register)" in the title.

The topic for this meeting is:

The Rows Roll

Rolls of arms are amongst the earliest records we have of coats of arms, the first dating to the 13th century.  These rolls usually commemorated participants in a battle or members of a country's aristocracy.  The first roll to focus on a particular family was the Rows Roll, compiled by Master John Rows of Warwick (1411-1491) to create a comprehensive record of the arms of sequential Earls of Warwick.  Mr Geoffrey Kingman-Sugars will present a richly illustrated talk on this vibrant and colourful collection of coats of arms, including the many family connections between these Earls and other powerful families of that time through marriage.

If you are interested in this event you might also be interested in the many other benefits of membership. See Membership Benefits for member benefits, or go straight to Join or Renew to join.
