DNA SIG Meeting (Information)
The DNA SIG meeting is a hybrid meeting for members with an interest in DNA for their genealogy research. Members should register to attend this event by logging in and selecting the event with "(Register)" in the title.
The WATO tool stands for 'What Are The Odds', and is designed to apply mathematical probability algorithms to match data in order to rank the likelihood of a person fitting into a known tree at different locations. That can be complicated. But for beginners in DNA analysis, it is also a very suitable place to organise and analyse a group of matches clustering together in both known ways and unknown ways. We'll walk through how to use it in practice. Examples from other members will be used to illustrate the various uses of this tool. Registrants are strongly advised to watch several explanatory videos on the site www.dnapainter.com before the session.
