Date & Time
3 June 2023 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Timezone
(UTC+10:00) Australia/Sydney

The India Special Interest Group meeting is a hybrid meeting for members with an interest in researching family history related to India. Members should purchase a ticket to attend this event by logging in and selecting the event with "(Register)" in the title.

The topic for this meeting is:

"The Lolly Shop: Explore the Delights of India Research Sources in the British Library."

Over the past decade Prof. Peter Stanley has been lucky to have spent many weeks in London working in the old 'India Office' collections in the British Library. Although he is not a family historian as such, and the focus of his research has been a succession of military histories, many of the sources he has used are of relevance to family historians interested in British India. In this session he will talk about and show examples of many sources - archival and official, published and visual - which might give you ideas for your own research project. This will be a practically-oriented session and there will be opportunities to raise your own India research questions.

If you are interested in this event you might also be interested in the many other benefits of membership. See Membership Benefits for member benefits, or go straight to Join or Renew to join.
