Irish SIG Meeting (Information)
The Irish Special Interest Group is an enthusiastic group of members who are keen to share their knowledge of Irish research and resources with fellow members. Members should register to attend this event by logging in and selecting the event with "(Register)" in the title.
The topic for this meeting is:
Brehon Laws from before 600 - 1605: Ireland's modern approach to timeless issues
This presentation covers Irish old age pensions introduced in the early 1900s. People new to these records are often surprised to find they also refer back to and include information from the 1841/1851 census records (before they were destroyed). Where to find pension records for the many Irishmen who served in the British military will also be discussed as well as Irish military service pensions for those who served during the Easter Rising or the War of Independence.
If you are interested in this event you might also be interested in the many other benefits of membership. See Membership Benefits for member benefits, or go straight to Join or Renew to join.
