The topics for this meeting are:

"Changing Roles PLUS Strathclyde Tips"

1.Changing Roles by Pennie Pemberton. English and Welsh parishes from Missions to the Poor Law. This will discuss the formation of parishes (and why no two are alike), dioceses, parish registers, the development of the Poor Law based on the parish, the modern civil parish, and the connection with Probate before 1858.

2. Some information about, and tips from, The University of Strathclyde on-line genealogy courses (Cheryl Bollard). Tempted to study genealogy through a British university? Cheryl will share her experiences.
