The Convict Special Interest Group meeting is a hybrid meeting for members with an interest in researching their convict ancestors. Members should purchase a ticket to attend this event by logging in and selecting the event with "(Register)" in the title.

The topic for this meeting is:

"Where to Next with Convict History with Professor Hamish Maxwell-Stewart"

Join us as we welcome one of Australia's best-known convict researchers Professor Hamish Maxwell-Stewart to talk about five areas that could, and should, be the subject of further study. These range from mapping convict bodies to using record linkage to explore post-transportation lives. Illustrated with individual examples, this presentation will describe how these future research projects might be put together and outline ways in which they are likely to add to our knowledge of the convict era and what can be learned about convicts in Australia.

If you are interested in this event you might also be interested in the many other benefits of membership. See Membership Benefits for member benefits, or go straight to Join or Renew to join.
