Irish SIG Meeting (Information)

Date & Time
9 July 2022 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
(UTC+10:00) Australia/Sydney

The Irish Special Interest Group is an enthusiastic group of members who are keen to share their knowledge of Irish research and resources with fellow members. Members should register to attend this event by logging in and selecting the event with "(Register)" in the title.

The topic for this meeting is:

Searching for Irish ancestors in newspapers

While law-abiding poor people were rarely mentioned in early newspapers, there is a wealth of interesting aand informative articles in newspapers about people with connections to Ireland. These days with powerful search engines such as the British Newspaper Archive, Irish Newspaper Archive, Trove and Papers past, you may be able to find some vital facts from the past with a modest amount of effort.

If you are interested in this event you might also be interested in the many other benefits of membership. See Membership Benefits for member benefits, or go straight to Join or Renew to join.
