The guest speaker for the month is Associate Professor Francis Devlin-Glass from the editorial collective of Tinteán magazine.

 

The topic for this meeting is:

"An Irish Story: Francis Patrick Cranny"

Frances' talk on her great-great grandfather Francis Patrick Cranny (uncle of Joseph Mary Plunkett) is the story of an Australian Irish immigrant.

About the speaker: Frances Devlin-Glass is an Honorary Associate Professor at Deakin University (Melbourne) and has worked since 1970 in the fields of Australian Literary Studies and Irish Literature, as well as Feminist literature and theory. She is also part of the editorial collective of well known Irish-Australian magazine Tinteán.
