Education and Events Program

The aim of the Education Team is to provide opportunities for our members and the public to enhance their knowledge skills in family history. It is a wide ranging task.
We do this by offering training, courses, and facilities for meetings.
We host speakers for our regular monthly meetings and invite both Australian and international speakers to our society. We've recently held day long programs on Highland Scotland research, Kent research and "DNA and Identity". Zoom technology has dramatically increased our access to the highest quality international speakers. This year will see Ian Waller, Diahan Southard, Michelle Leonard, Chris Paton and many others address the Society. We are proud to support the society by raising money through some of these events.
We support our Special Interest Groups in Education. Beginners’ Courses are held each year using our publication Family History for Beginners and Beyond as the text. A Writers’ course is also held each year.
We are always happy to hear from Members who wish to recommend topics or speakers.
